What Infer.tax does

Infer.tax classifies your bank, card, and inbox activity into tax-relevant categories and assembles a packet of memos, cited authorities, and source documents. Infer.tax is the gathering layer; a credentialed CPA — yours or one we match you with — reviews the packet and files the return.

Not tax, legal, or accounting advice

Nothing produced by Infer.tax is tax, legal, or accounting advice. Position memos surface candidate authorities for a CPA to evaluate; the CPA decides whether each authority applies and ratifies (or rejects) every meaningful position. Filing decisions belong to your CPA.

Classification accuracy

We work hard to classify accurately and to surface the cases where we are uncertain. We do not, however, guarantee the accuracy or completeness of any classification, memo, or calculation. Review the packet with your CPA before filing.

Subscriptions, billing, and lapses

The Free tier is $0/month and supports limited monthly activity. The Pro tier is $20/month, billed monthly via Stripe. You can cancel any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.

If a payment fails, we send three reminders over a 14-day grace window. After that the account downgrades to Free; your data remains intact and you can resume Pro at any time.

Acceptable use

Connect only accounts you own or have authority to use. Do not attempt to extract underlying model weights, exfiltrate other users' data, or use the service to file fraudulent returns.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Infer.tax's aggregate liability for any claim arising out of the service is limited to the fees you paid to Infer.tax in the 12 months preceding the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages, including any tax penalty or interest assessed against you. Some jurisdictions do not allow these limits — those limits will not apply where prohibited.

Termination

You can close your account at any time. We can suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or applicable law. On termination we honor the deletion path described in our Privacy Policy.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Disputes will be resolved in the state and federal courts located in New Castle County, Delaware.
